With innovative activities in line with the state’s precautionary policy in preventing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) on Monday concluded Eid Al-Adha celebrations, which attracted a large number
of the public participation for four days.
Salem Mabkhout Al Marri, director of Public Relations and Communication at Katara, said: “Katara is keen to present new activities that are compatible with the current situations in which we live that require social distance and commitment to precautionary measures. Visitors enjoyed a variety of events that spread the joy of the Eid in a happy atmosphere while at the same time to maintaining their safety.
“All efforts were made to provide all safety and well-organised procedures, which provided Katara visitors with the right conditions, as the Eid gifts delivery process took place in a way that allows the largest audience to participate. This is in addition to what Katara’s various social media accounts witnessed in participation in the Eid competitions or follow up on virtual fireworks shows.”
Katara has also unveiled a 50-metre-long mural in its main entrance from the southern side under the title ‘Katara
thanks the medical teams in Qatar’ in appreciation of their efforts to preserve the safety and health of society.
A total of 12 Qatari plastic artists participated in the mural.
Katara visitors enjoyed four days of Eid festivities with a number of activities, including the distribution of gifts under the title ‘Your Eid in Your Car’, as children received their gifts at the drive-through distribution points from 5pm until 9pm throughout the holiday period.
The drive-through distribution process was adopted to keep everyone safe.
Katara also presented virtual fireworks on two days at 8pm and 9pm on its website, in a way that corresponded with its actual fireworks in the past holidays.
