Qatar condemns Afghanistan prison attack Aug 04, 2020 0 8257 12345 QNADohaQatar has condemned the attack that targeted a prison in Jalalabad city in eastern Afghanistan and caused scores of deaths and injuries.In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance, rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and causes.The statement offered Qatar’s condolences to the families of victims, the government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.At least 29 people have been killed in fighting between Afghan security forces and gunmen who raided a jail overnight in an attack claimed by the ISIL (ISIS) group.Among the dead were prisoners as well as civilians, prison guards and Afghan security personnel.
