Senior students at the Girls’ Section of the MES Indian School organised an online panel discussion titled ‘The World and the Pandemic COVID-19: During and After’, recently.
During the event, eight panellists each from Grades XI and XII spoke about the present scenario caused by the pandemic and its impact on world economy.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest of the event and Principal of MES Indian School Hameeda Kadarcongratulated the students and appreciated their efforts during the tough times of the COVID-19 pandemic. She hoped that the adverse impact of the pandemic will give way to the bright and promising turn of events in the days to come.
Guest of Honour Annamma Shammy, vice-principal and head of Girls’ Section, also congratulated the participants and praised them for their enthusiastic performance. The programme commenced with the recitation of prayer by Amna.
The panellists were Hibat Ali, Nikhita Abraham, Hanna Mariyam, Nidhi Bhatt, Nausheen Panali, Amna, Lilian Biji, Anushka Sumesh, Feba George, Aafiya Umar, Ann Sara George, Umm kulsoom, Crystal Elsa Shaji, Nileena Lison, Ayesha Salam Khan and Hudha Ashraf. They spoke fervently of the changes brought by the outbreak and how the world has struggled to contain them by adopting lockdowns and social distancing lifestyles. They also spoke about strengthening family ties and surmounting the challenges to the education sector as a result of closure of educational institutions. They were optimistic about the reconstruction of the world economy when the pandemic gets over.
Tanishka from Grade XII was the moderator. The panelists were also awarded e-certificates for their participation. Nihan Kadar proposed the vote of thanks. The school officials, including the principal, vice-principals, heads of section, headmistress and head of Academic Inspection, attended the event.
