COPENHAGEN: Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said on Sunday she has married her partner of 16 years, nearly eight months after the 34-year-old took office as the country’s youngest-ever head of government.
Marin announced on Instagram she had married Markus Raikkonen and posted a picture of the couple, her dressed in white and holding white flowers while he wore a classic tuxedo.
“I am happy and grateful that I can share my life with the man I love,” Marin wrote. “Of all people you are the right one for me. Thank you for being by my side.”
The Finnish government said the small ceremony took place at the prime minister’s official residence in Helsinki on Saturday and that 40 people were attendance. Marin met Raikkonen when they were both 18 years old. (DPA)
