Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani on Saturday held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the French Republic Jean Castex.
During the phone call, the PM congratulated his French counterpart on his appointment as Prime Minister, wishing him success and the relations between the two countries further progress.
They reviewed the bilateral relations and the ways of enhancing and developing them in all fields, especially economic and investment.
In addition, they discussed several regional and international issues of common concern, especially the developments in Libya and ways of resolving it through political dialogue and diplomacy.
The Prime Minister affirmed the stable and supportive position of Qatar to the Libyan people, the internationally-recognised legitimate government, and the concern for the unity and stability of Libya.
Also, they discussed security cooperation between the two countries regarding the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Qatari-French cultural year and the Green Initiative Fund. They also discussed coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the ways of strengthening cooperation on the issue.
