As a humanitarian service on Eid Al-Adha amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA), in association with Qatar Charity (QC), have distributed food coupons to people in need.
More than 50 socio-cultural organisations representing different expatriate communities, including those from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Indonesia, received the coupons at an event held at the headquarters of the QC in Lusail on Friday. The food coupons can be redeemed at Al Meera branches in Qatar.
Head of Awareness Guidance and Labour at MADLSA Ali Salh Al Khalaf said, “Qatar values the contribution of expatriate communities and is always committed to supporting them.”
Head of Programme at QC Farid Khalid Seddighi said the initiative of distributing food stuff would be of help to a large number of expatriates during the tough time brought by the pandemic.
The event was organised under ‘Our Eid is One’, an initiative on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. It was attended by MoI and MADLSA officials.
