Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen got married on Wednesday, after her wedding had to be postponed several times, including due to EU summit.
Frederiksen married her partner Bo Tengberg on Wednesday afternoon in a small church on the island of Mon in the Baltic Sea, where the couple own a holiday cottage, the news agency Ritzau reported.
The ceremony was reportedly small, with former prime minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen attending as well as several of Frederiksen’s cabinet members.
The 42-year-old politician had originally planned to marry Tengberg last summer, however the Danish parliamentary elections got in the way.
Plans for the wedding this year were marred by the coronavirus.
The latest set date had been this Saturday, which was not possible due to a last-minute EU summit to discuss a 750-billion-euro (857-billion-dollar) coronavirus recovery plan.
Frederiksen had met Tengberg, who is a 55-year-old film director and photographer, through mutual friends in 2014.
