BELGRADE: Voting in North Macedonia’s parliamentary election began on Wednesday accompanied by measures to reduce the risk of the coronavirus, with fear and apathy likely to affect turnout and the poll’s results.
People arriving at polling stations were only allowed to enter if they were wearing a mask and after cleaning their hands with sanitiser. The number of people permitted to enter a polling station at the same time was limited to the number of voting booths indoors.  After presenting their documents, officials asked people to briefly lower their masks to confirm their identity. (DPA)
