The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will close, from Thursday evening for six months, a lane in both directions of the Grand Hamad Street, from the Abdulla Bin Jassim Intersection up to the intersection of Grand Hamad Street with Al-Mahar Street
The diversion on the 700-metre stretch, to be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Department, aims to facilitate infrastructure development and beautification works on the Grand Hamad Street, as part of the Doha Central Development and Beautification - Third Package project.
During the closure, two lanes will remain open to traffic in both directions and access will be provided to residential areas and commercial facilities in the neighbourhood.
Ashghal said it will ensure proper road signage to alert commuters of the temporary diversion, calling on all commuters to adhere to the speed limit and follow road signage to ensure their safety.
