The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has welcomed the ruling of the International Court of Justice in favour of Qatar.
In a landmark judgment, the ICJ recognised the competence of the ICAO to consider Qatar’s complaint against the four countries.
Qatar submitted complaints to ICAO in which it presented in detail all the violations committed by the four countries regarding the air embargo and demanded an end to it. In a statement, the CAA said it would immediately initiate the complaints procedures submitted in 2017 to prove to the world the violations of the four countries of the Chicago Convention 1944 and the transit agreement annexed thereto, in which they claimed that the measures taken by Qatar were invalid before the ICAO.
