In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Commercial Bank (CB) has joined hands with Euromoney Livestream to host ‘Qatar: Navigating the new normal’ on July 15. During the online Euromoney Livestream, key speakers from the Commercial Bank, economists, and investors will share their perspectives on the future of banking and finance in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
United Development Company President, CEO and Board Member Ibrahim Jassim Al Othman, Commercial Bank Group Chief Executive Officer Joseph Abraham, and Commercial Bank Wholesale Banking Executive General Manager Raju Buddhiraju will be joining Richard Banks of Euromoney Livestream to discuss the effect of the pandemic on Qatar and how the nation is preparing for the new normal.
This Euromoney Livestream is the first Middle-East-focused episode during the pandemic and is considered to be an unrivalled opportunity for the public not only to hear straight from top experts from two of Qatar’s most important publicly listed companies but also to engage with them in a round of questions and answers via live chat.
Commenting on the event, Othman said, “There is no doubt that COVID-19 has had its impact on business. However, businesses with solid strategies will always find a way to manoeuvre through this hurdle.”
“COVID-19 has presented both challenges and opportunities which have required us to do things differently. The strategy that we have implemented, particularly in technology, has enabled us to respond to both challenges and opportunities,” Abraham said.
“Euromoney is pleased to continue its longstanding relationship with Commercial Bank of Qatar and introduce this special country-focused LiveStream,” Euromoney Middle East Director Victoria Behn said.
