Al Shamal Municipality has intensified inspections at the Al Ghariya Beach to deter beachgoers from violating the Public Hygiene Law.
The inspections come after Qatar relaxed some of the restrictions it imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). With more people now choosing to go to beaches, especially during the weekend, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), in cooperation with the General Cleanliness Department, the Natural Reserves Department and the Public Relations Department, has been conducting a comprehensive public campaign at all beaches to raise awareness of the Public Hygiene Law.
According to Al Shamal Municipality, the inspections resulted in the detection of several violations. According to the municipal authorities, necessary legal actions have been taken against the violators.
