‘Qatar takes slew of measures to address impact of COVID-19’

Qatar has put in place several measures to address the COVID-19’s social and economic impacts, especially on expatriate workers. Deputy Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations HE Abdullah Hamad Al Nuaimi said Qatar has provided incentives for the private sector, ensured the sustainability of employment and protection of wages in order to cushion the pandemic impact on expatriates. He was addressing an interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the highest attainable standard of mental and physical health. (QNA)
