Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) celebrated the graduation of a new batch of its students in a virtual ceremony that was broadcast live on all social media platforms and sites of the College on Thursday.
In a statement, the QAC said it organised the virtual graduation ceremony as a commitment to the standards, plans and precautionary measures taken by the State to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The 2019-2020 batch of graduates includes about 100 students who successfully passed the academic programmes, such as the pilot training programme, aircraft maintenance engineering, meteorology and air monitoring, and the advanced programme of aviation management.
In a speech to the graduates during the virtual ceremony, Minister of Transport and Communications HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti congratulated the students, praising their dedication and perseverance to achieve such success in light of the exceptional health conditions that the world is witnessing today.
The minister praised the graduates’ keenness to show the highest levels of determination and work to become distinguished in the majors they studied.
He added that the QAC is proud to present to friendly countries a new batch of graduates who have received advanced scientific qualification that is in line with the requirements of the times and the levels of major academies and institutes around the world.
For his part, QAC Director-General Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad Al Thani congratulated the graduates on this distinguished achievement despite the circumstances and difficulties that the world faces in view of the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the disruption of most aspects of life.
He praised the graduates of this year, stressing that they are different and distinguished, indicating that despite all the circumstances, they performed their tests at the QAC headquarters with the utmost transparency and in accordance with the precautionary procedures that were coordinated with the competent authorities.
He said, “QAC has overcome all difficulties with the continuous and constant support of Minister of Transport and Communications HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti.”
He urged the graduates to discharge their duties with sincerity.
