The second stage of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions will come into force from Wednesday as per the plan. The transition from stage 1 to stage 2 of reopening is based on public health data and COVID-19 spread indicators.
As per the plan, the Phase II will see restricted opening of mosques for all five prayers with limited capacity. Maximum 50 percent of public and private sector employees will be allowed at their workplaces, provided that employers meet hygienic requirements and implement precautionary measures.
All commercial activities will be allowed to resume their work in malls and commercial centres, while gaming centres, amusement parks, skateboard arenas, prayer rooms and cinemas will remain closed.
Restaurants operating inside malls and commercial centres are allowed to deliver to home addresses, or hand over orders at the restaurant only. This decision also prohibits any artistic, cultural or recreational activities at malls and commercial centers.
The Phase II will also see the capacity of private healthcare facilities increasing to 60 percent while continuing to provide emergency services.
Public and private gatherings will be limited only to five people, and violators will be subject to the relevant penalties.
All parks and beaches as well as the corniche will be reopened for people of all ages while continuing to practice social distancing. Play areas, however, will remain closed.
Families will be allowed to rent boats and yachts in groups not exceeding 10 people.
Sports training in open spaces and large halls will be permitted for professional athletes in groups not exceeding 10 people.
Libraries and museums will reopen with limited capacity and limited working hours in the second phase.
The museums and galleries that will reopen include the Museum of Islamic Art, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the Garage Gallery at the Fire Station: Artist in Residence, while Heritage sites will include Al Zubarah, Al Jassasiya and Barzan Towers. Community members are required to adhere to the precautionary measures such as wearing masks when going outside, downloading the Ehteraz app and practicing social distancing for the health and safety of all.
