New Delhi At least two workers were killed and four more hospitalized after a gas leak at a pharmaceutical plant in India’s southern state of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at the plant of Sainor Life Sciences Private Limited, a pharma company located in the port city of Visakhapatnam, around midnight.
“Six people working at the plant inhaled the toxic gas. Two died on the scene, while four others are being treated at a hospital,” local police officer Udaya Kumar said by phone.
The unit was shut down immediately after the leak as a precautionary measure and the gas had not spread in nearby areas, police said. (DPA)
