The Qatar Foundation for Pre-University Education is taking its summer camp online for the first time. Mukhayamna, scheduled to run from July 5 to 30, will feature a series of fun and exciting educational activities for school children of all ages.
“This year, because of the pandemic, we have decided to host our summer camp virtually,” said Abeer Al Khalifa, executive director, Academic Affairs, Pre-University Education (PUE).
“And while COVID-19 restrictions are beginning to ease, we will go ahead with the digital platform as we are dedicated to creating a safe, happy, and secure space for our participants.”
PUE has teamed up with a number of local authorities to deliver this year’s camp, including the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Texas A&M University in Qatar, the Islamic Art Museum, the Qatar Scientific Club, the Doha Film Institute and the Qatar National Library.
The comprehensive programme, open to children aged 5-18 years, includes language lessons, model United Nations activities and musical theatre classes, as well as design, creative writing, technology, STEM, sports and arts sessions.
Khalifa said: “We are looking forward to welcoming students to this year’s camp. Every year, alongside our academic activities, we strive to promote a range of other skills, such as leadership, teamwork, and creativity, while building personal success.
“And this year, we are also offering special classes for gifted students, which – through a challenging, specially-designed programme – will help these young people excel, and encourage them to shine.”
The courses will be delivered by teachers from all QF schools, including Qatar Academy Doha, Qatar Academy Al Khor, Qatar Academy Al Wakra, Qatar Academy Sidra, Qatar Academy Msheireb, Qatar Academy for Science and Technology, and The Learning Center.
“We have no doubt that this year’s edition will be a great success and encourage interested community members to register,” Khalifa added.
Registration facility for the camp is available at mukhayamna.qfpue.org/home.
