The Cabinet has amended the decision regarding working hours for employees in the government sector at their workplace. As per the decision, the working hours for government employees will be seven hours per day, starting from 7 am until 2 pm. The decision is effective from Sunday, June 14.
The decision was taken at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani through video conference.
The Cabinet also took decision that the private healthcare facilities can run at 40 percent of the capacity, while continuing the emergency services, in accordance with the conditions and controls set by the Ministry of Public Health.
This decision is effective from Monday, June 15, until further notice. The Ministry of Public Health will take necessary measures in this regard.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet heard a presentation by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The Cabinet affirmed that precautionary measures are continuously being taken to combat pandemic within the framework of the plan to gradually lift the restrictions imposed to contain the virus.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved a draft law amending some provisions of Decree Law No 11 of 2012 regarding government regulation for the sale and purchase of chemical and petrochemical products produced in Qatar.
It also approved a draft Cabinet decision to amend the organisation of some of the administrative units that make up the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and specify its terms of reference.
The Cabinet also took necessary measures to ratify a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the National Tourism Council of Qatar and the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism in the Republic of Austria.
It also ratified a Memorandum of Understanding for economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar and the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs in the Republic of Austria.
The Cabinet approved a draft legal cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Justice of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
