Traffic violations recorded in Qatar dropped by 62 percent in April as compared to March, according to latest figures released by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA).
Similarly, traffic accident cases dropped by approximately 40 percent in April as compared to the previous month.
As per the report, light injuries accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents cases (88 percent), followed by severe injuries (10 percent). However, six deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2 percent of total traffic accident cases. The total number of registered new vehicles during April has reached 2,535, a monthly decrease of 41 percent and an annual decrease of 55.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.772 million during April 2019 to 2.805 million at end of April 2020. (TNN)
