THE Municipal Control Department of Al-Shehaniya Municipality carried out 648 inspection tours in May, according to a Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) press release on Tuesday.
The inspection tours aimed at maintaining hygiene at food outlets in the area during the Holy Month of Ramadan and protecting the health of community members.
The Health Supervision Department intensified its inspection during the Holy Month and conducted as many as 458 raids while detecting seven violations of Law No (8) of 1990 regarding monitoring supply of human food. The department also recorded three reconcilliation reports with traders.
The inspection teams also detected 2,849 animal sacrifices, while destroying three carcasses completely and 45 partially.
The Technical Supervision Department of Al-Shehaniya Municipality also intensified its inspection raids during the period in order to monitor encroachments on state property in the area and conducted 150 inspection raids. It also recorded 10 violations of the state’s property laws of which nine cases were referred to judicial proceedings while in one case reconcilliation was achieved.
The General Oversight Section carried out 40 inspection tours in the Al-Shehaniya Municipality area focusing on violations regarding not wearing masks and gloves in public places.
