Qatar Scientific Club (QSC) has manufactured 100 face shields at its digital manufacturing laboratories in coordination with Aspire Academy to reduce the risk of transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The club said this face shield is lightweight and reusable after sterilisation, as it is usually intended for medical and security crews but can also be used in cases of epidemics and pandemics. It is easy to use and constitutes an additional protection element for the users.
Hussein Al Kubaisi, Director of the Youth Affairs Department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, said this initiative contributes to providing the required preventive support during the current situation.
Executive Director of Qatar Scientific Club Engineer Rashid Al Rahimi said in coordination with the medical staff of Hamad Medical Corporation, the club was able to design and manufacture this product that suits the user’s need. It was way better than the product available in the market in terms of design and reuse, and was submitted to several institutions, including Aspire Academy.
Director of Aspire Academy Jassim Mohammed Al Jaber thanked QSC. He said Aspire Academy will provide the product to the twelfth grade students and employees to help them perform the final exams.
