Children from different age groups participated in large numbers in the Shan-e-Ramadan programme organised by Sohni Dharti forum.Quran and Naat recitation contests were held for two age groups and four categories as children participated in the same through their videos.
The winners of the contests were decided by a six-member jury comprising Muhammad Kamran, Syed Nasooh Akhter, Muhammad Tariq, Muhammad Bilal Khan, Hafiz Khalil-ur-Rehman and Hafiz Khurram Shahzad, based on the votes given by more than 1,000 subscribers of Sohni Dharti AKC official YouTube channel.
In the first contest of Quran recitation for children in the age group 5 to 9, Musfirah Mujtaba bagged the first position, while Ramla Nasrat Gul came second and Syed Yahya Wajahat secured the third position.
In the second contest of Quran recitation for children in the age group 10 to 14, Jannat Makhdom got the first position while Syed Hamza Wajahat came second and Abiha Ashar got the third position.
In the third contest of Naat recitation for children in the 5-9 age group, Ayesha Inam got the first position, while Huda Amir came second and Laiba Amjad Saleem secured the third position.
In the fourth contest of Naat recitation for children in the age group 10 to 14, Abiha Ashar got the first position, while Maida Shahid and Mohammad Ahmed Bhatti bagged the second and third positions respectively.
Sohni Dharti President Ibrahim Feroz, Cultural Secretary Amjid Saleem, Media Secretary Abdullah Sheikh and Finance Secretary Imtiaz Ahmed coordinated the event with the active support of SD Executive Committee members.
Sohni Dharti Chairman M Saleem Baloch thanked the participants and their parents. Praising the efforts of judges and Executive Committee members, Baloch urged community members to face the COVID-19 situation with courage while strictly following the precautionary measures.
The Sohni Dharti forum has been serving Pakistani families and their children for the last 23 years in Al Khor, he said, adding the Executive Committee members were doing community service by grooming children to become future leaders. He cited the example of his son Mohammad Johar, who was initially trained by Sohni Dharti, and is currently president of international welfare forum ‘4H Club International’.
