A number of students from the DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) honed their oratory skills at an online workshop on ‘Public Speaking’ organised by QatarDebate recently.
Debate coach and instructor Amina Awartani conducted the workshop in an interactive way via Cisco Webex, reinforcing the importance of the delivery, style, content and vocabulary to be used for different topics.
Anah Zahra Asim Merchant, Anoop Haridoss, Vishwa Bhaveshkumar Vekariya, Prithwiraj Purkait, Sheba Binu John, Manjushree Magesh, Kaaviya Ramesh Kumar, Govind Krishna, Ishita Golash, Venus Rinith and Muhammad Zajir Rawther from Class VIII, along with their teachers Malathi Mahalingam and Jaya Majumder, attended the workshop.
An impromptu topic was given with time restrictions and the students were to speak their views and opinions confidently.
They enjoyed getting feedback and learning new aspects of public speaking. The students enthusiastically took part irrespective of the event being online.
