The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has clarified that prayers at mosques will continue to remain suspended. Responding to the news shared on social media about reopening of mosques, the ministry said the decision to suspend prayers inside mosques will continue as part of precautionary measures taken to curb the spread of COVID-19. “The illustrative pictures, showing worshipers praying following preventive measures and social distancing, which were circulated widely on social media platforms are a proactive educational material that has been prepared to educate the community as and when mosques are reopened, when the situation would allow to do so, following the conditions to be specified by the authorities concerned,” the ministry said in a tweet.
