Qatar on Thursday recorded 1,967 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 2,116 new recovered cases, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 15,399. The ministry also announced three deaths due to the virus.
In the last 24 hours, 23 people were admitted to intensive care due to the virus, bringing the total number of cases in intensive care to 214.
The new confirmed cases of infection have been kept in complete isolation at various medical facilities and they are receiving the necessary care.
The ministry said three people who died were aged 81, 50 and 25 years, who were suffering from chronic diseases and received treatment in intensive care.
The ministry offered condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased.
It said anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 must either quickly contact the 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the designated health centers for testing the virus. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
