Four faculty members of the DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) recently attended a webinar on ‘Lesson Planning for Effective Learning Outcome’.
The webinar was organised by Pearson through Zoom application for English teachers of grades I to V from various schools.
The session, which was attended by 500 English teachers, addressed how to anticipate work and achieve learning outcomes in the present scenario. It also discussed using tips and strategies for effective online classes, and planning and executing online classes.
The hosts of the session were Swapnil Mandhana and Rashmi Prasad.
Madhana welcomed the participants and took the session forward by introducing and explaining netiquettes to be followed by students as well as teachers during online classes, and the points to remember for effective online classes.
The importance of making students familiar with the features of the platform, using a quick energizer to settle the class and setting the classroom norms and expectations were stressed by the resource person.
Madhana presented the ‘Big Picture’ to the teachers that included the Environment, Motivation, Communication, Course structure, assessment for learning and feedback. He also stressed the need to be flexible, and to build a sense of community to help students cope with the change.
