The new academic session of the DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) Nursery started recently with an online orientation programme for parents and nursery students.
The session was held online, bearing in mind the current circumstances of COVID-19. Parents and students attended the session with enthusiasm and excitement.
The programme began with the opening remarks by Shabana Parkar, followed by a welcome speech by Najla Mohammed Bukhari.
Nursery Coordinator Principal Asna Nafees addressed the parents and assured them that their children will be in safe hands and highlighted the support the school will provide in terms of grooming and mentoring their wards.
Gurpreet Kour gave parents a glimpse of how nursery is a milestone in the child’s life, as it is the initial stage of organised instruction, designed primarily to introduce their children to a school-like environment. Kour explained the activities and routines that their children would follow through the PPT, with a particular emphasis on life skills and nursery preparedness.
Dipti Dixit shared her views on positive parenting and gave presentation on positive and effective parenting.
Parents were also briefed about the school’s e-learning portal and on how to use the remote learning zoom app by IT Head Harish Buhari.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Ramalahsmi Balaji and Rihana Sheik Farid. It was a very informative and fruitful session.
