Oman-Qatar relations have always been deep and strong, cemented by the tribal kinship and affinity, said Ambassador of Qatar to Oman HE Shaikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman al Thani.
He said the coordination between the two countries in all fields, in addition to convergence of views on regional and international issues, have contributed to further strengthening these ties.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the ambassador stressed that the relations between the two countries are exemplary thanks to the keen attention of Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq and the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani. He said the relations between Muscat and Doha are characterised by more openness and proximity, considering the natural resources, advanced industries and strong economies they both enjoy, in addition to their geographical proximity and the strong historical ties that unite the two countries.
On the role of the Omani-Qatari committee, the ambassador said it has been working to give a boost to a number of projects that have been discussed in the past period. The committee is working on four projects in several areas, including food security, tourism, manufacturing and assembly, in addition to utilising raw materials.
