Qatar Scientific Club (QSC) has manufactured 1,000 medical masks to be used by the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) staff working to fight the coronavirus.
The face masks can be used several times and can be sterilised after each use.
The initiative is the culmination of the agreement signed between the two parties in February 2019, emphasising the exchange of experiences in the humanitarian, scientific and technical fields.
QSC Executive Director Engineer Rashid al Rahimi said the club had previously manufactured 1,000 medical masks for the Hamad Medical Corporation.
Rahimi said the medical mask is a Qatari product with efforts and initiatives from the youth and engineers of Qatar Scientific Club. The local medical face mask is considered a better product than those available in the market, according to the evaluation of the competent medical authorities.
For his part, Executive Director of the QRCS’s Medical Affairs Sector Abdullah Sultan al Qattan thanked the Qatar Scientific Club for its continuous cooperation with the QRCS in light of the partnership agreement concluded between the two sides that resulted in the implementation of many joint humanitarian activities.
