Qatar Care, home nursing and medical services provider, in collaboration with Prime Care recently hosted a webinar to provide continuous professional development (CPD) to healthcare frontline workers in the country during this time of coronavirus pandemic.
The webinar titled ‘Microbe Warriors: An Online Synchronous Learning on Infection Prevention and Control Practices’ provided timely insights on infection prevention and control for the frontliners.
The CPD activity was accredited by Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) for a maximum of 4.50 CPD hours.
“As we organise webinars for our clients, we ensure that we keep the training at its top quality. Contents are relevant enough to ensure our participants are provided with the necessary information that would make their practice extra effective, safe and beneficial to their clients. In fact, as organisers and trainers ourselves, we continue to get advanced trainings too so that we would be able to provide what is needed and important relevant to their roles as frontliners,” Qatar Care SPC Seminar Director Normarie J Lego, RN told Qatar Tribune.
The webinar initiated by Lego was held with the guidance of Qatar Care Scientific Planning Committee (SPC) Chairman and Education and Training Director Peach Dale Esloyo and Senior Communications Director, SPC and Research Adviser Dr Alvin Abainza.
Commenting on the activity, Dr Abainza said, “The ‘new normal’ is taking its toll on us amidst this pandemic. But looking at the situation on a brighter side, this led us to innovate new cost effective disruptions and alternatives in the delivery of what we ought to provide to our clients. Choosing the right platform is a matter of choice.
“However, in choosing such, clients have to be involved and consulted in order for it to be effective despite the challenges being faced. We, at Qatar Care, ensure that we involved the clients in delivering quality care and education to everyone we serve.”
The successful pilot webinar by Qatar Care was also supported by its General Manager Mary Rose Uy, RGN, Deputy Manager Rowena Dimpaso, RGN and Operations Manager Michelle Lagahid, RGN together with SPC members Zoraida Zaide, seminar director; Ariane Terado, technical director; and Faith Galindo, creative director.
More advanced webinars are in the pipeline in the future that will cater both to internal and external participants to broaden their networks and to reach out to more people. SPC is inviting everyone to join them in their Webinar Series: Microbe Warriors in the coming weeks. Contact [email protected] to register.
