The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has arrested 19 people of Arab and Asian nationalities for repackaging expired foodstuffs.
In a statement, the ministry said, “The North Security Department arrested 19 persons from Arab and Asian countries after they repackaged and wrapped expired foodstuffs inside a warehouse in Umm Abiriya.”
The statement added that a device used to modify the validity dates of foodstuffs was seized from the suspects.
It added that the defendants were referred to the competent prosecution to complete the legal procedures followed in this regard. (QNA)
