Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al Thani on Thursday visited several pharmaceutical factories in the small and medium industries zone in the Industrial Area to see the progress of production of medical supplies and its adequacy to meet the local market needs.
The PM visited Qatar Pharma Pharmaceutical Industries Factory, Qatar Al-Hayat Pharmaceutical Industries Factory and Al-Maha Medical Supplies. The PM listened to explanations about the strategic plans of these factories and their production capacities of medicines, sanitisers and masks.
The PM also inspected the laboratories, warehouses, and the workflow of factories, in accordance with their manufacturing plans that seek to fulfil the need for medical supplies in the local market and to export to brotherly and friendly countries.
The PM praised the efforts of the factories, their managements and workers, commending the role played by the private sector in several spheres, especially in the medical field, in response to the national executive plan to counter the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In a tweet, the PM said, “The reality of medical production in Qatar is satisfactory and provides required quantities of medical supplies. Today, during my visit to a number of factories, I saw a promising sector produced at a good pace and with the highest quality standards. The government will spare no effort in facilitating the work of this sector and all sectors involved in achieving self-sufficiency in accordance with the Vision 2030.
