Doha Municipality inspects 7,953 food establishments in 3 months

Officials from the Municipal Control Department at Doha Municipality inspected 7,953 food establishments in various areas of the city in the first quarter of the year. The inspectors closed 55 food outlets for violations of Law No. 8 of 1990 related to human food and issued 321 notices to shops during this period over breaches. Besides, the inspectors examined 115,042 animal carcasses and destroyed 832 of them which were found unsuitable for human consumption. The officials also examined 74,474 kilogrammes of fish in the Corniche fish market and destroyed 1,032 kilogrammes. (TNN)
