The Qatari Diar Company (QDC) has opened Abrouq and Umm Samra roads, which are the main roads leading to the Lusail Stadium.
The company has also opened a number of main entrances to the stadium, which will host the opening and final games of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The opening of the two roads by the Qatari Diar Company is part of Lusail City’s preparations to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as the work of art along the two roads is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
The two roads cover 4.9 kilometres and they are considered to be the main routes of Lusail City, as they link the southern areas with the northern areas through a 640-metre-long tunnel that extends under the main commercial street of Central Lusail.
The roads will make it easier to move between the neighbourhoods and districts of Lusail City, such as Jabal Thuaileb, Madinat Al-Yasmin right up to the Lusail stadium.
The Qatari Diar Real Estate Company was established as one of the Qatar Investment Authority companies in 2005 to support the growing economy of Qatar and to implement real estate development projects both inside and outside the State of Qatar.
Qatari Diar started to establish Lusail City in the north of Doha in December 2005, which is considered to be the largest city in the world to be built according to sustainability criteria.
