Qatar on Wednesday participated in the extraordinary meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Electricity and Water in the GCC member states, which was held via video conference to discuss issues related to electricity and water in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Qatar was represented at the meeting by President of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) Engineer Issa bin Hilal al Kuwari.
Kuwari said the meeting was held to exchange views on how the electricity and water sectors should deal with the pandemic. The meeting also discussed exchanging expertise and a unified response.
Kuwari said Kahramaa had solid emergency plans in place and the company succeeded in ensuring that service continues uninterrupted while taking all the precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its employees.
