MOSCOW: A fire at a construction site for a coronavirus treatment hospital near Moscow has killed one worker, state news agency Tass reported on Sunday, citing civil protection officials.
The fire broke out at a collection of tents being used by workers as accommodation and spread to an area encompassing 90 square metres, the report said, adding that a faulty wood oven is thought to be the cause of the blaze.
Construction on the 500-bed hospital, located some 70 kilometres south west of the capital, began in mid-March and a launch is expected later this month. Some 3,000 people are working around the clock to complete the building. (DPA)
