SEOUL: The number of daily new coronavirus infections in South Korea dropped below 100 again, health authorities said on Thursday, with 89 new cases recorded on the previous day.
The total number of infections increased to 9,976 and the death toll rose by four to 169, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Seoul.
The reporting shows the number of newly reported infections has “stabilized” at around 100 for the past three weeks. A clear downward trend began in March, after peaking at the end of February with over 900 cases recorded in a day. (DPA)
