Three more people recovered from coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries in Qatar to 51, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced.
Monday also saw a surge in new infections with 59 more people testing positive for the virus, taking the total number of cases in the country to 693.
In a statement, the MoPH said some of the new cases are related to people who have recently returned to Qatar from overseas, particularly from the United Kingdom, and some others who have had contact with people infected with the virus, either from family members who live in the same house or from relatives in other homes.
All new cases have been put into quarantine where they are receiving the necessary medical care, it added.
So far, 20,058 people have been tested for the virus in Qatar.
