A Thai soldier killed at least 20 people and injured 31 others on a shooting rampage on Saturday that ended up at a shopping mall in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima, where the attacker is reported to have taken hostages. Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed the casualties to reporters at a local hospital, but added that there may still be others unaccounted for. Military commander Lieutenant General Thanya Kiatsarn said security forces were trying to apprehend the gunman, who is believed to be in the mall’s basement. Thanya identified the shooter as Corporal Jakrapanth Thomma. (DPA)
