500 electric car charging stations in first phase

A tender of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has specified the implementation of the first phase of the network of electric vehicle charging stations with international technical specifications and standards. The first stage consists of 500 electric car charging stations of varying capacities starting from 50 KW. The move is part of the green vehicles initiative to provide a clean and safe environment for future generations. The number of electric and hybrid cars in the country is expected to reach 7-10 percent by 2022. Kahramaa announced through the tender a request for consulting services to support the plan and provide a comprehensive study of the network of charging stations for electric and hybrid cars. (TNN)
