DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) won the first prize in Senior category in a quiz competition organised by the Indian Embassy and hosted by Shantiniketan School, recently.
The winning team comprised Bilal Ahmed Assadi from grade XI, Tejaswi Manoj and Nandini from grade IX.
Students from several Indian schools in Qatar participated in the competition. The event was a platform to spread awareness among school students about the life and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and Dr B R Ambedkar, father of the Indian Constitution, as well as on the working of the Government of India.
The competitions were held separately for Junior, Senior and Teacher categories.
The preliminary rounds were conducted among 15 schools, out of which 6 schools qualified for the final round.
The winners received certificates and books on Mahatma Gandhi. The principal congratulated the team members for their grand performance.
