Qatar Petroleum has honoured more than 450 frontline leaders who have completed an 18-month specialised leadership programme, the second of which it has organised for its senior employees.
The event was held at the Qatar National Convention Centre under the patronage of HE Saad Sherida al Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, and was attended by Qatar Petroleum’s executive leadership team, QP said in a statement on Tuesday.
Kaabi congratulated the participants and thanked them for their commitment to development and for their efforts to help achieve Qatar Petroleum’s vision of becoming one of the best national oil and gas companies in the world.
He said, “We know that many companies can buy the best systems and machines, but without well-qualified, skilled, and motivated people operating and managing them, they will get nowhere.”
Kaabi stressed that learning matters, and that everyone in Qatar Petroleum needs to apply their newly learnt knowledge and skills in the workplace.
“This is a new culture that we need to build in order to enjoy greater speed and agility as an organisation, and to take our place on the global stage,” he added.
Kaabi reiterated that investment in leaders will continue as learning becomes a never-ending journey at QP.
Each of the mandatory leadership programmes was customised to Qatar Petroleum and co-designed in a partnership between QP’s Human Capital Directorate and top business schools. More programmes are planned for 2020 to address emerging priorities and needs, QP said in the statement.
