Johannesburg: The United Nations has condemned the reported killing of four Action Against Hunger aid workers who had been held hostage in Nigeria by suspected fighters of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
“I am deeply saddened and outraged by the news of the tragic killing of four aid workers,” said Edward Kallon, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria.Action Against Hunger (ACF) announced late Friday that the armed group responsible for abducting the workers had claimed to have executed another four of them, bringing the total number of fatalities to five.
One of the hostages was executed in September. (DPA)
