The Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) confirmed that all preparations have been completed to secure the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019, which kicks off in Doha on Wednesday and continues till December 21.
Security Commander of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup Lt. Col. Khalifa Shaheen al Dosari underlined that all units of the Security Committee are fully prepared for the championship, adding that work is proceeding according to plans set in terms of security measures, facilitation the movement of traffic, ensuring the flow of the people and providing all security services in accordance with the best levels and international standards.
He noted that the security preparations for the Club World Cup are going on the same level of interest and coordination between the executive units of the Security Committee in the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup 24.
He pointed to some conditions that have been considered and as stipulated by the regulations of FIFA as the organiser and supervisor of this tournament, such as conditions for holders of match tickets, persons allowed to enter stadiums and other conditions different from those during the Gulf Cup.
He stressed that the main target of the Security Committee is the safety of the masses and the participating teams and achieving the maximum levels of security for all concerned parties, as well as bringing the championship out in a manner befitting Qatar and its prominent experience in organising international and regional sporting events.
He praised the great efforts exerted by all units to make the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup a success, affirming his absolute confidence to achieve similar success with FIFA Club World Cup 2019.
Al Dosari advised fans to arrive early at the stadium to avoid traffic congestion and overloading the gates, and to give security men an opportunity to carry out their tasks in a way that guarantees the safety of all noting that all facilitations will be provided to the public, especially families, children and people with disabilities.
For football fans coming from abroad, Al Dosari said that there is a complete coordination with countries whose fans are expected to attend the tournament, adding that there are about eighty nationalities whose citizens can obtain an immediate visa from the airport, and most of the teams participating in the tournament have their countries enjoying this advantage.
For his part, Head of the Communication and Media Unit of the Security Committee Col. Khaled al Kaabi said that the past period witnessed extensive communications to coordinate between the Committee and the relevant authorities in FIFA and the concerned authorities in countries participating in the Club World Cup, in order to provide security for all participating teams, their sports missions and the media.
Meanwhile, Captain Mohammed Omar al Shahwani, captain of Al Sadd Sports Stadium said that security plans have been put in place to secure the stadium to facilitate the entry and exit of the fans and players noting that a large tent was set up for the security inspection process.
He added that the spectators, after passing the inspection tent, will enter Jassim bin Hamad Stadium at Al Sadd Club through 7 gates where security personnel and volunteers will help them reach their seats in the stands.
