The leading private medical chain has announced the opening of outpatient consultancy in plastic surgery at its Al Hilal branch.Dr Krishnakumar KS, senior consultant and head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Aster MIMS, Calicut, will be a visiting consultant there. With nearly 25 years of experience, he is considered one of the most reputed plastic surgeons in South India.Talking on the new facilities, Dr Sameer Moopan, chief executive officer at Aster DMH Qatar, said, “We are discussing how we can offer more advanced treatment for various illnesses to patients here. It will not be immediately possible to set up some of the procedures here at Aster Medical Centre at Al Hilal and Aster Hospital Doha. Some other practices are feasible here subject to licensing and regulatory approvals and infrastructural upgrades.”“Plastic surgery is a surgical speciality involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories: reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. There is a common misconception that cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery are very expensive and it takes long period for cure completely. But nowadays with the support of latest technology and equipment these are also same as other surgeries,”said Dr Krishnakumar during a press conference. Talking on the initiative, Sameer PT, chief operating officer at Aster MIMS Calicut, said: “We are extremely happy to extend Dr Krishnakumar’s OPD service to people in Qatar. We already have good patient base in Qatar. I hope the new OPD will benefit expatriates.
