Beirut: Some 71 families from Syrian refugees living in Lebanon voluntarily returned to their homeland on Tuesday, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Scores of Syrian refugees, accompanied by Lebanese security officers, boarded buses and headed to different parts of Syria. A security source told DPA that the refugees had left voluntarily, at their own request.
Syria’s civil has raged for almost nine years but fighting lessened after government forces, supported by Russia, regained large swathes of the country’s territory. (DPA)
