THE rate of road acccident deaths in 2018 has become less than a quarter of what it was in 2006 per 100,000 inhabitants.
He said the Ministry of Public Health, as a key partner, has fulfilled all its commitments under the National Traffic Safety Strategy. The ambulance service, transporting of the injured, emergency services and rapid response to accidents have all witnessed great development.
He said the average response time for emergency calls has been improved to five seconds, while the arrival of the ambulance service at the scene took seven minutes inside Doha and eight minutes outside in 91.2 percent of cases.
Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah al Maliki, secretary of the National Traffic Safety Committee, said Qatar has paid great attention to road safety, sensing the importance of preserving the manpower and economic resources of the country.
“Thanks to the traffic policies adopted by Qatar and the cooperation of all concerned parties, significant progress has been made in reducing the mortality and injuries resulting from road accidents in the country,” he added.
