Qatar Charity honoured the sponsors and supporters of its humanitarian and development projects, volunteers, collaborators, influential figures, and the winners of the ‘Initiatives Challenge’ programme held during the holy month of Ramadan this year, in recognition of their remarkable efforts and outstanding roles in carrying out humanitarian action and serving the local community.
The ceremony also witnessed the announcement of the winning initiatives, with the ‘Tastahek’, ‘Future Compass’, and ‘Future Compass’ initiatives bagging the first, second, and third spots respectively.
The certificates and mementos of appreciation were awarded to winners and other initiatives, which participated in the challenge. A video clip on programmes implemented by Qatar Charity’s Local Development Department during the holy month of Ramadan was played and each initiative participating in the challenge gave a presentation during the ceremony.
The winners were selected based on evaluation criteria relating to a creative idea, efficient plan, activity, teamwork, social media engagement, effective presentation, and the need of the local community for the activity.
Addressing the ceremony, Jassim al Emadi, director of Local Development Department at Qatar Charity said, “Qatar Charity is keen to cooperate with all bodies within and outside of Qatarin the humanitarian field, including awareness, volunteering, and supporting Qatar Charity’s charitable projects with all possible means”.
He also thanked all the sponsors and supporters of Qatar Charity’s projects and programmes for cooperation in the past, expressing his hope that the joint endeavours would continue to further develop this collaboration with partners, sponsors, ministries, and governmental and private bodies in future.
For his part, Sheikh Khaled Abu Mozah, who was honoured during the ceremony as one of the influential social figures, thanked Qatar Charity for honouring him and promoting youth initiatives, considering that this honor is necessary and required to develop young people abilities and encourage them in voluntary and humanitarian work.
The list of institutions, centres, clubs and organisations that have been honoured during the ceremony included the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Interior represented by Traffic Department, Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Shafallah, Qatar Rehabilitation Center, Hamad Medical Corporation, Ehsan, Qatar Sports Club, Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN), Ideal Solutions, Almana & Partners, Barwa Bank, Vodafone Qatar, Qatar Power Engineering & Contracting, Aster Medical Center etc.
