We look forward to an elected Shura Council in near future: Amir Nov 14, 2019 0 1713 12345 TNN & QNADohaThe Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani has confirmed that the HH is looking forward to an elected Shura Council in the near future.In a tweet, the Amir said, “I am delighted today to meet with the Speaker and members of the Shura Council after a week of my speech at the council, to exchange conversations and consultation, especially as we look forward to an elected Shura Council in the near future.”The Amir met with Shura Council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al Mahmoud and the members of the council at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.The meeting was attended by the Deputy Amir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al Thani.At the outset of the meeting, the Shura Council speaker thanked the Amir for meeting them, days after His Highness inaugurated the 48th ordinary session of the Shura Council, while stressing the implementation of the directives of the Amir’s speech in cooperation with the government.For his part, the Amir welcomed the speaker and members, noting the efforts exerted by the council in enriching the national work in the legislative field and following up the progress of the government work, and its notable presence in international forums, stressing the importance of preparing for the upcoming Shura Council elections.The Amir expressed his hope that the elections will enhance the role of the council in the future.
