QATAR Fund for Development (QFFD) organised a workshop entitled ‘Using Innovation to achieve SDG targets 2030’ with the participation of relevant organisations.
Held in cooperation with Global Good, the workshop was attended by more than 60 representatives from a range of Doha-based charities, academic and research organisations as well as governmental entities.
QFFD aims to lay the foundation for further cooperation with Global Good to benefit from their technologies to solve some of the pressing challenges facing people.
It also aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between QFFD and international partners to achieve sustainable development goals.
The Deputy Director General of Projects Development at QFFD Misfer bin Hamad al Shahwani stated that the aim of such cooperation was to coordinate and invest in innovations that could help find cost-effective solutions for health and development problems in resource-poor areas. The workshop also aims at setting a platform for facilitating co-action with all national stakeholders and to exchange experiences with international institutions and explore cooperation in the use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in the global health and development sectors.
“Global Good acknowledges Qatar’s progress towards realising UN Sustainable Development Goals and applauds its significant contributions to the development and humanitarian sectors, especially global health, education and economic development,” said Dr Peter Small, senior director of Global Health Technologies.
